Whilst Emily In Paris Season 1 was a fun watch full of cliches and stereotypes, Emily In Paris Season 2 felt less contrived.
First, the unexpected BTS ‘Dynamite’ number performed by Mindy was stellar! I’m definitely a fan of la dame pipi. I actually loved all of her performances throughout the show. Especially the performance in the Chinese restaurant that ended in that epic kiss with her boyfriend.
This season felt a lot more natural and less forced. Emily’s character seemed more mature and less like a tourist.

Of course, her complicated relationship with Gabriel was the center. We all know that he is the person she wants but can’t have due to her moral compass and we deal with the ups and downs of it throughout the season.
However, I thought Alfie stole a lot of the spotlight from this. He is clearly a tentative romantic line for season 3 but who doesn’t love a good English gentleman? I hope we get to see more of them together and by that I mean I hope she gives him a real chance (not as a plan b).

Other than that, this season brought us a lot of character growth. Emily showed us that she is becoming more aware of her flaws and working towards fixing them for her overarching character arc.
It was pleasant to see her gain a level of self-awareness although she visibly still struggles with it.

I enjoyed seeing more of Mindy’s storyline as I think she is painfully underutilized in this series, and hope that she can show even more depth under her protected image and surface later on.
A shoutout to my favorite scene. The fashion show? Brilliant, especially when it switched up to the hip-hop remix. The fashion on the actual models (not on the designers) was mid (the bras looked like basic H&M bras) but I appreciated the general concept of the fashion show and the choreography of the scene.

Overall Season 2 was a lot better than Season 3 for me.
What did you think of Emily in Paris Season 2?
