Hot Pursuit was an easy watch with high entertainment value. It was a simple but funny storyline with an oddball strong female protagonist couple.

Their chemistry was undeniable as complete opposites who balanced each other’s flaws. Their characters were also extremely detailed and well-written, despite being built on a foundation of stereotypes and cliches.
The dialogue was super on the nose but I wasn’t expecting anything Shakespearean. However, there were some witty lines and the whole movie was genuinely comedic.

I wish that the rogue/bad cop storylines for Rose’s colleagues had been explored a bit more because it was set up so well, but seemed forgotten in the plot. It would’ve been a nice piece of closing resolution as well.
The same with the storyline about Sofia Vergara’s character’s brother. He was clearly a huge motivating force for her actions but we never got the justifying plot line. He seemed tossed in as a motivation but not thought-out.

Other than that, it was a solid film. Nothing mind-blowing but a solid piece of entertainment.
