Meet The Music
Faith DJ has just released a new album titled Chifukwa, on the 15th of July 2024, available on all streaming platforms. The album consists of 11 tracks with ‘Chifukwa’ serving as a title track of the same name. One of the album’s highlights is the outstanding number of features from artists such as Kelvin Sings, Isaac, Paul Kachala (who was featured on her previous hit ‘Matamando’), Beracah, Siggy Kim, Chigo Malinga, Tiya Joan, and Khetwayo & S.A.M.U.E.L.

The album’s title track ‘Chifukwa’ has also be released as a music video which you can watch on YouTube below.
Produced by S.A.M.U.E.L and Trust Msowoya, the ‘Chifukwa’ music video features relatable figures who are clearly going through a time of despair or doubt. However, Faith DJ’s impactful rapping coupled with the intense beat of ‘Chifukwa’ and its melody create an empowering aura to the song.
Meaning ‘reason’ or ‘because’, ‘Chifukwa’ shares a message about the meaning of life and finding one’s purpose. Faith DJ raps one of the key lyrics, “Moyo wanga uli ndi chifukwa,” which means ‘my life has a purpose’ and drives the song’s symbolism home.
Before its release, fans were already anticipating the release of the album and music video, leaving comments on Faith DJ’s Facebook such as, “Can’t wait for this album to drop,” or “Looking forward to this,” and “What a surprise!”
The album has been in the making for four years and therefore holds a special place in Faith DJ’s heart as she had her two children in the process of producing it. In a pre-release post, she shared that she is convinced and confident about this album, raising expectations from soon-to-be listeners.
