Firstly, we need to acknowledge what needs to be acknowledged. The acting from this cast??? Just pure fire! All of the actors were on their A game, especially Song Ha Yoon (who played Su Min) and Lee Yi Kyung (who played Min Hwan).

They really showed out.
Park Min Young and Na In Woo were also great but they lacked a bit in the chemistry department in the beginning – perhaps because of the age gap – but it wasn’t too much of a minus.

We need to give a shout out to the support roles, big and small, too. Except for maybe one… We’ll get into that later though. Each character made the story all the more exciting; especially actors Choi Gyu Ri, Gong Min Jung, HIGHLIGHT’s Lee Gi Kwang, and Bae Green. They were part of what made the sidelines and sub-plot lines just as entertaining as the main one. We also have to thank them for their hands in serving juicy justice.

The story took us on a rollercoaster of emotions in the best way, especially in the first half.
The second half, though?
This writer reallllllly didn’t want to jump on the BoA hate train… However, it’s just inevitable. This drama could easily have been the best drama of the year (granted that the year has just started) if she hadn’t acted in it. Not to say that she’s the sole problem… The narrative in itself went astray but that was mostly surrounding her character anyways.

It’s to our understanding that her character doesn’t have that much of an impact in the webtoon that the drama is based on (although she might in the original web novel) but the drama writers somehow insisted on giving her this ridiculously big amount of screen time. It’s to the point where K-netizens were wondering if SM Entertainment sponsored the drama for them to insist on giving BoA such a big and loaded villian role when she has so little acting experience.
In fact, if BoA had just done a simple cameo and kept it moving, it would’ve been fine. However, it kinda feels like the production crew set her up… Putting her in a drama with actors who are renowned for their acting skills and giving her so much of a stake in the story… Anyway, this is just a conspiracy theory.
If we still look at the drama holistically, overall, it was pretty solid with the themes of betrayal, revenge, and redemption. The ending was beautiful and satisfactory, too.
