Planning your next international trip can be equal parts exciting and equal parts stressful. There are so many things to look forward to but just as many to plan and figure out. For instance, one of the most challenging decisions to make when planning your overseas travel is deciding on accommodation. If you’re staying in Seoul, South Korea, for example, you might be wondering where the best place to stay in the city is, especially if you have a busy schedule filled with activities such as riding the Seoul Dal or visiting the Lotte World amusement park. Well, I have the perfect Seoul hotel recommendation for you.
I had the pleasure of enjoying a mini-staycation at the Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall Hotel nestled in the heart of Seoul. Find out all about it in this blog post and review.
About Travelodge Hotels In Seoul
Travelodge has 4 different hotels in Seoul – Myeongdong City Hall (where I stayed), Myeongdong Euljiro, Myeongdong Namsan, and Dongdaemun.
Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall is a three-star hotel excellent at all the essentials. You’ll never lose touch with the world when they’ve got high-speed WiFi and 24/7 support to help you navigate your way through the pulse of the city. Their Myeongdong City Hall hotel is a doorstep away from public transportation and within walking distance of the shopping haven at Myeongdong Shopping Street and Namdaemun Street Market.

Walking Distance Tourist Attractions: Things To Do Near The Hotel
Here are some of the must-see tourist attractions in the surrounding area of the Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall Hotel:
Visit Gwanghwamun Square
You can take a short 12-15 minute bus ride or a 20-minute walk (with lots to see on the way including City Hall) to Gwanghwamun Square and get a glimpse at some of Korea’s historical figures such as Admiral Yi Sun Shin and King Sejong The Great in statue form. There are events at the square all year round like night markets and promotional pop-ups for different brands. So, try to time your visit with one of them to get the best out of it.

Visit Gyeongbokgung Palace
Whilst you’re at the Gwanghwamun Square, if you walk a little bit further up you can also visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty. Take yourself back in time in Korean history.
If you want to fully immerse yourself in the culture, you can also wear Korean traditional hanbok at Gyeongbokgung Palace and get the full experience. This will get you free entrance into the palace, too.

Grab A Bite At Namdaemun Market
The Namdaemun Market is also quite close to the hotel and is a convenient 12-ish minute walk away. The market is filled with lots of affordable shopping options and also an array of Korean traditional foods and street foods to try out. I personally enjoyed trying some delicious noodle dishes and hotteok (a Korean honey-filled pancake).

Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall Hotel Review
Check out my vlog of my stay at the hotel here:
I think this hotel is perfect for all kinds of travelers – including solo travelers, couples, friends, and family. The room was super clean (my number one priority when choosing hotels) and super cozy. Not to mention that the staff was super friendly and helpful, too.
As I mentioned before, the Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall hotel is super central. It’s near some of Seoul’s hottest attractions and the best foodie spots with public transportation within easy reach. So, I was able to walk to some of Seoul’s best historical and traditional hotspots, take in the sights, and have some personal healing time with ease.
If you didn’t know, exploring is my love language. So, that was the cherry on top of this whole staycation.
I also really like the fact that they have various promotions and loyalty programs that give you bang for your buck. For example, they have a TLA Cashback Program where you can earn up to 5% cashback on every stay and perks like early check-in, late check-out, and more deals.

They also have deals like Stay 3, Pay 2 where you can save on your stay. It’s a great hotel to stay at if you want to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth!
