Synopsis: How the BBC obtained the bombshell interview with Prince Andrew about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. (IMDb)
We can all agree that the Jeffrey Epstein case is one of the most disturbing criminal cases of the decade. This film took this scandal and flipped the focus to that of Prince Andrew’s perspective.

Sam (played by Billie Piper) was quite the refreshing character to watch on screen. She tells it like it is and has a very no-BA attitude which seems detrimental until it isn’t.
Then we have Emily (played by Gillian Anderson) who is the opposite of Sam and between these two strong female characters we need to find a solution. Their character dynamic is a large part of what makes the film and gives it that satisfying tick.

We also have Prince Andrew and his interview as the center of the story… Watching the interview between Prince Andrew (played by Rufus Sewell) and Emily was like watching a train wreck. Emily utilized Sam’s tip to let him speak, which let him speak himself into a downward spiral without too much probing from her. Her questions were well-paced and spread into all of the pivotal points to send him into his social grave.
There was something very satisfying about watching this scene but at the same time it was like a dance recital gone wrong but you can’t get yourself to look away. You’re just cringing throughout the whole thing.

Additionally, there’s an element of uncanny valley in this film. You’re well aware that you’re watching a piece of fiction – especially one with actors who are not the real people… but it feels all too real like you’re watching a documentary.

This writer was skeptical of the film’s concept at first but it was actually quite intriguing to watch.
