Shadow Beauty was one of my favorite web dramas of 2021.

It was a school drama about multi-layered social issues such as social media, school violence, and more.

It was incredibly well cast. Shim Dal Gi, the lead, was extremely authentic on screen. Her acting was convincing and genuine. I especially enjoyed how some of her unexplained behaviors like the hatred towards her mother, nightmares about her sister, etc. made me assume things about her and thus enhanced the plot twist regarding that storyline.

Another actor who blew me away was Golden Child’s Choi Bo Min. He didn’t seem like a rookie actor at all and gave me chills with his haunted expressions and obnoxious character. Once again, very different from his usual persona, proving that he has a wide range of versatility.

Finally, I have to give a shout-out to fromis_9’s Lee Na Gyung, too. Her acting was also stellar to the point where you had no choice but to dislike her character in the drama.

This drama was riveting and had me waiting eagerly for each episode. The plot and suspense of waiting for all the secrets to be revealed was thrilling to watch.

In fact, I dare to say that this deserved to be a full K-Drama with longer episodes.
